Missed Months!

So again, I am a little bit behind on posting.  It's April and I need to get back to December.   December 2011 was a wonderful month.  My private music students had another wonderful recital at the beginning of the month.  I was nearly in tears, realizing I only had one more recital left.

My parents also returned for a visit in March.  They arrived days after the student recital, in time for the performances of my preschool students at All Souls' Church.  They put on a cute Christmas play.  I was most impressed with my 4-year old class that was able to use rhythm sticks.  Way to go Explorers!

It was great to have my Mom and Dad here again.  We even enjoyed new sights together - Kokusai Street, The Marriott Resort & Spa, Tropical Dream Center, Dim Sum buffet and a trip to Kyoto.  Seeing Kyoto (mainland Japan) with my parents was fantastic!  We were there at the end of fall, so the colors of the Japanese Maple trees were beautiful.  We toured the entire city over 4 days.

My parents left just before Christmas.  So Joe and I celebrated Wigilia with our good friends the Duensings.  Will, Katie and Ellie came over for the pierogi fest --- and it was great!

Almost immediately after Christmas, my in-laws came for a visit.  Mom & Dad Platt made the big trip back to Okinawa.  Back?  Yes!  They were stationed here years ago when Joe was just a little guy.  It was wonderful to see them again and to see their impressions of how Okinawa has changed.

You're probably wondering, where are all the photos Lindsay?  Well, we certainly took them.  But at the end of January our Platt PC melted.  Yes, really, it melted.  So since then we have been a little hard up to get photos off of our cameras or off the backup drive onto the little back-up laptop.

Fortunately, I can leave you with this photo.  We had a bit of a sad sakura season this year (cherry blossom).  I think the typhoons from last summer (2011) were strong enough to mess with the growing season.  However, we did make it to Nago Castle and saw a few beautiful blooms.

Nago Castle

Nago - All of the trees on this street are sakura.  However, only one was really in bloom.  The others were not interested.

Of course, if you got up really close to the tree, it looks like there were TONS of flowers :)
