So again, I am so embarrassed that it's been 3 months since the last post! This spring has really flown by! Here's the first update, back from April 2011.
We were supposed to go to Kyoto the first weekend in April to see the Cherry Blossoms with our friends John & Susan (and baby Zander). Unfortunately, with the earthquakes & tsunami, a lot of travel to the mainland was cancelled. We were disappointed, but tried to make it up by going to our favorite restaurant at the Hotel Hamahigashima.

One of my Okinawa music friends, Saori, performed in a recital (piano). She was fantastic! As we talked with her after the recital she kept saying, "I am so happy!" |
One weekend, Joe and I took a drive to the northeast part of the island. It's beautiful up there! |
On that same trip up north, I dragged Joe to the Okinawa Tropical Fruits Land. Unfortunately, there were no fruits! We were too early. |
But they did have native Okinawa butterflies. |
And the most fantastic ice-cream-fruit dessert I've ever eaten! |
May was busy in different ways. We began to say good bye to many of our friends here. I had my wisdom teeth removed and my second student recital. Joe tried deep-sea fishing too!
We started off May with Joe taking out my two tiny wisdom teeth. What a great dentist!!! |
While preparing for my student recital, I had to stop at a local Yamaha piano store. Joe thought this sign (on one of their pianos) was pretty funny! |
